SUMMER CAMPS!
This year’s Summer Camps at The Butterfly Joint are for children ENTERING 1ST GRADE AND UP with a limit of 10-12 students per camp (please read individual camp descriptions for specific grade minimums). Camps run from 9:00am-3:00pm with an outdoor snack/recess and lunch/recess. We take full advantage of the natural beauty that surrounds the shop so recesses are held at Golden Gate Park or Sutro Heights Park! Along with woodworking skills, The Butterfly Joint focuses on teaching children manners, personal and community responsibility and social justice as well as helping parents reinforce productive social and emotional behaviors for their children.
Campers must bring their own lunch and snacks. We allow nuts and foods that contain nuts as we eat outdoors and at distance for snack and lunch. Children do not share food at camp.

Clock Camp, June 9-13

The woodworkers will make their very own clock from reclaimed wood! After shaping and smoothing the wood, the students get to screen print the numbers along with adding a laser-engraved image of their choice. All clock movements and parts included (just add one AA battery at home). You won't believe they made it themselves!

Succulent Vessels Camp, June 16-20

The woodworkers are going to get the best of both worlds in this camp: woodworking and time in nature. We will begin the week working on our succulent vessels and by midweek we will take a hike through Land’s End to source wild succulents and collect pebbles, shells and decorations to add to the boxes. We’ll end the week adding the finishing touches to our vessels, planting our succulents, and adding our final “flare”!
